In a recent article I explained about our token jar system for allowances. We use this system to help teach our children that time and money work in coordination. With the token jars in place, these lessons occur naturally throughout the week as the children choose between technology time and money.
I started thinking after viewing the pictures in that post, “wouldn’t it be fun to have a cute little design on top of the lid, rather than my scraggly scrawl?” So here you go, from me to you. You’ll want to first go back and read Change the Culture: Time and Money in Symbiosis, then print the labels below (save the photo and then print the full-size image). Tape or glue the labels onto your jar lids and enjoy the freedom that comes with a hands-off tool for teaching kids the relationship between time and money.
