My husband’s coworker’s elderly mother (still with me?) was once asked what she would do over in her life if given the chance. Her response?
Eat more ice cream.
Wise words for us all.
Welcome to money Monday, where I share my highs and lows from a week of money management. Join in and share your money management successes and failures below. I’d love to hear from you!
Wise Money Management
This week we saved money by swapping out ALL of the bulbs in the house for LEDs. Yep, even the microwave hood lights.
I am so stinkin’ jazzed. Want to know if it made a difference? I’ll be writing up a detailed report soon. Squeee!!!
We went over budget on groceries. Sigh.
I’d like to blame the fact that my husband and I just started a whole30 this week (woohoo!), but I know that we could’ve been more careful.
**note: our whole30 turned into a whole3 when my husband had an incredibly stressful week at work. Not gonna make excuses. It is what it is. Even those 3 days made me realize how I can do a better job of getting veggies into my day. I have absolutely no idea how we did the even more restrictive AIP when my husband was ill last year.**
Too many months like this and it’s time to reevaluate our grocery budget and perhaps raise the monthly allotment.
At least our cart is full of veggies, right?!
My advice to those of you contemplating a whole30? Have plenty of approved snacks around. We kind of screwed ourselves by having a “we’ll just make everything from scratch!” plan this time. Being less impulsive (I’d wanted to be supportive of my twin who is starting the whole30 soon) would’ve made a huge difference in our success.
How did you manage money wisely this week?
