Welcome to money Monday, where I share my highs and lows from a week of money management.
Wise Money Management
This week I saved money by not grocery shopping. We always have a stocked pantry and freezer, so it’s not a huge sacrifice to skip a week or two at the store. Though not having fresh apples for the last several days has felt like a big sacrifice. “Absence makes the heart grow fonder”, right?
When my husband needed a new belt we stopped by our local Value Village thrift store. He got a new belt and running shorts, and I picked up a few pieces of clothing for the kids.
The cord on our much loved children’s alarm clock had also snapped. My smart hubby picked up a similar cord from the thrift store for only $1. Woot! **Quick side note: if you struggle with toddlers or preschool age children that pop out of bed too early in the morning, this alarm clock will change your life. You can thank me later.
Mismanagement. Ouch!
Library fees. Oh library, how you taunt me! I like to jokingly say that we just want to do our part in supporting the local library, but in reality I am terrible about returning books on time. I’m open to suggestions to help us not pay so many fines and remember to return our loans in a timely manner. Any ideas?
How did you manage money wisely this week?
