This week found me couponing like a queen & indulging like a princess. Welcome to money Monday, where I share my highs and lows from a week of money management.
Feel free to share your own successes and failures from this week. We can all learn together 🙂
Wise Money Management
This week I saved money by dating my way through Target.
Let me be clear… I was on a date with my husband (and daughter, technically).
We had a 15% off coupon from making an online purchase at Target during Black Friday. What do you do when you have a big fat coupon and no large items need to be purchased? You buy diapers, of course.
With the help of our magic coupon (ok, not so magic, it cost nearly $200 in bedding that was soooooo worth it) and the amazing little Cartwheel app, we saved nearly 50% on our bill.
Cool, no?
Mismanagement. Ouch!
I don’t have any particularly interesting money foibles to share with you this week, but I do have a rather juicy confession regarding misuse of time.
Let me preface this admission of guilt with one helpful tidbit of information: I’m in my early thirties. It’s entirely possible that this just might be my version of a mid-life crisis.
Maybe.
Here’s the revelation: I think I’m addicted to a teeny-bopper TV show entitled, “The Vampire Diaries“. Waaaaaaay too much time has been spent chowing my way through seasons 1-5.
Husband, if you’re reading this, I promise that the children are still being fed and schooled.
Whew! It feels good to get that off my chest. I’m powering through the remaining seasons, simultaneously enjoying this wild indulgence and looking forward to regaining my sanity.
Sort of like when I buy a box of girl scout cookies and then eat the whole thing at once so that I don’t have to feel guilty about it for a week.
Please tell me I’m not the only person who powers through my indiscretions in that way…?
How did you manage money wisely this week?
