Turkey day has come and gone. What are you most thankful for this year?
I’m thankful for good health. This time last year my husband could barely drag himself to the table for 5 minutes to join the family for Thanksgiving dinner. We learned so much through his illness and are grateful for this time of good health.
Welcome to money Monday, where I share my highs and lows from a week of money management.
Wise Money Management
This week I saved money by getting a dollar per gallon off my gas fill up. Let’s see… gas-guzzling suburban… times hubby gone on vacation and mama never checks the gas gage… plus a dollar off per gallon… equals $24 saved on our fill-up!
Check out how you can save money on your auto gas using fuel rewards.
If you haven’t been living on the moon, you’ve probably heard of Redbox.
When this odd movie rental service first arrived in our town we thought it was kind of ridiculous.
“You get the movie from where?” “How do the movies get there?” “Isn’t that dumb?”
We equated it with all of that new-fangled “texting” stuff that our European friends were trying to drag us into…. just another way to remove human interaction from our lives.
And it is. But it’s convenient. And cheap. So we’ve jumped on board the trend and promised ourselves that we’ll retain our humanity another way.
If you sign up at Redbox you’ll get free codes nearly every week. “Free codes?”, you ask. Yup. That translates to free movies.
Well, free unless of course you have a billion kids and can’t stay up past 10 pm, thereby necessitating dragging a single movie across multiple nights. Like, “free-becomes-$9-over-the-weekend” nights.
So, yeah, just remember that free isn’t always free.
How did you manage money wisely this week?
