Welcome to money Monday, where I share my highs and lows from a week of money management.
Wise Money Management
This week I saved money by joining Humble in A Heartbeat’s one month spending freeze. I’ve never done a spending freeze before. I’m not sure what to expect. Any tips?
I’ll be doing a slightly wussy-fied version of the freeze since I didn’t warn my family beforehand. It seems to me that a true spending freeze is something that a couple ought to plan and agree on.
Our router (an Airport Time Capsule) died this week. We had a new one shipped right away, but our home was without wi-fi for 4 days.
We survived, clearly 🙂 I got a lot of reading in, including The Ice Passage by Brian Peyton. This fascinating book tells the story of the Investigator, one of the ships that was dispatched to search for the missing arctic Franklin Expedition. I can’t get enough stories of early arctic and antarctic expeditions. Those guys were men.
Now, what was I talking about?
That’s right, money mismanagement.
You know what happens when a blogger loses internet access?
That’s what happens. Until, of course, said blogger realizes that she can tether her phone to her laptop and continue her bloggy life like normal.
Until that gal realizes that she just used two-thirds of her phone’s monthly bandwidth in 4 days. Four days, people!!!
That’s gonna cost me some overage fees by the end of the month.
