Welcome to money Monday, where I share my highs and lows from a week of money management.
Wise Money Management
This week I saved money by using fuel rewards to save us $15 on gas. When we shop at our local Fred Meyer grocery store we get points that translate into cents off of a fill-up.
We try to get the most savings by waiting until our biggest rig (a suburban) is nearly empty, and then use the discount. You could be really wild and crazy by lining up your vehicles to max out the discount, but we’re admittedly not that frugal.
Kudos to you if that’s your thing.
The fuel rewards program is offered through Shell. Many gas stations offer similar programs. Doctor of Credit has a comprehensive list of gas rewards programs.
Mismanagement. Ouch!
As usual, I didn’t plan ahead well enough for meals and sent my husband to the store with a less-than-comprehensive shopping list.
Know what that means? We’ll have to be back in the store again before the week is out.
Guess what’ll happen at the store? We’ll spend money. ‘Cause that’s how it works.
How did you manage money wisely this week?
