In case you didn’t know it, I’m not superwoman. In fact, I tend to have a “soapbox” moment when confronted with apparent superwomen in my real life. Have you met these women? They are the sweetest, kindest gals; always ready to drop a meal, and asking how they can help. Unfortunately, it’s been my experience that 95% of the time these women (usually with young children underfoot) are the same gals who are confiding to me that they’re exhausted. Yes, exhausted.
In the interest of practicing what I preach (slow down, Mama! Take some time — years, if necessary, to breathe!) I’m going to attempt to run a semi-regular “Week in the Life” article.
The intent of these glimpses is to make you smile, laugh, commiserate, or glean a tidbit of new information that might be helpful to your own family. I’ll try to include plenty of real life so that you’re not tempted in your busy mind to turn this into a superwoman sort of affair. Because it’s not, and I’m not đ
The littlest dude (I still canât believe there are 5 dudes now!) is now 3 weeks old. Good times. Iâm trying to really soak up these newborn moments. Iâm also trying to spend less time on my phone, and encourage my husband to do likewise. The Lifegiving Home by Sally Clarkson really has me thinking about how âscreen timeâ detracts from our relationships as a family. Finally, I’m remembering how amazing these little swaddling blankets are. Dude number 5 is modeling one beautifully.

What happened in your neck of the woods this week?
